Building Strong Foundations: Partnering with Parents for Phonics Session.
Holistic development is a term often discussed in education, yet rarely practiced with true intent. At H3, we believe that nurturing a child goes far beyond academics, it’s about creating a balance between home and school. Since children spend a major part of their time at home, it’s essential that parents and schools work in harmony, sharing the same values and approach to learning.
That’s why at H3, we place equal importance on healthy meal plans, sports, social values, hygiene, etiquette, and empathy, ensuring that every child grows beyond numbers & alphabets, also in character and confidence.
One key area of focus is phonics, an essential foundation for reading and language development. Often, differences in pronunciation between home and school can create confusion for children. Our goal is to ensure consistency, so that children receive proper reinforcement of letter sounds and decoding skills every time they practice, both in class and at home.
At H3, we see parents as true partners in every child’s development. To strengthen this collaboration, we recently organized a Parents Phonics Session, an engaging, activity-based workshop that mirrored our classroom practices. The session introduced parents to the structured phonics sequence we use, from letter sounds to blending and decoding, through fun, hands-on activities.
The purpose was simple yet impactful: to empower parents with the right tools and understanding so they can confidently support their child’s reading journey at home.
At H3, we’re deeply committed to building strong home–school connections, because when parents and educators work together, children truly flourish.
